Zenith DLP Set Not Working After Lamp Replacement13 Aug 2008 00:03 GMT22
I posted a message about this a few weeks ago, regarding replacement of
the blown lamp. After installing the new lamp, the set still won't start up;
the "replace lamp" error light flashes instead. Checking the power input to
the H.V. power supply (or lamp ballast I suppose), I ...

Projection CRT Coolant Leak11 Aug 2008 21:58 GMT1
Got this massive RCA projection set (CTC-195 chassis) in the other day,
the initial symptoms were a badly-shrunken raster and an inability to change
the channels or adjust volume. Once I got inside I noticed some strange
corrosion in a couple of places, and realized that some ...
Toshiba  VTV-141511 Aug 2008 21:03 GMT8
When I switch this television set on it works fine but after 10
minutes there is field  collapse and the sound is ok.  I heard it has
an Orion chassis.  Does anyone know for which model?  What normally
goes wrong here?  Thanks

Neutral-earth short in Bionaire air purifier11 Aug 2008 16:42 GMT2
A Bionaire air purifier with ionizer works fine in a location without
Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB = RCD, RCCB, GFCI, GFI, ALCI), or
with an isolation transformer, but trips the ELCB immediately if
plugged in with an ELCB. Resistance between neutral and earth varies
Trying to repair Sylvania 6842-PEM plasma T.V.11 Aug 2008 11:23 GMT10
I turned on my TV, heard a loud "pop!", then the TV went into standby mode.
If I attempt to turn it on, it goes back into standby. I found a blown
capacitor inside the power board, replaced it, and the TV would come on for
about 10 seconds, then the capacitor would blow again. I ...
8 MM VCR Pioneer VE-D7010 Aug 2008 10:09 GMT5
This machine 8 MM VCR Pioneer VE-D70 is still almost in brandnew
condition although it must be over 10 years old and has been sitting
on the NON-repairables shelf for a long time. It is a nice example of
the few 8 MM Video Recorders which were available on the market.

Hi chums
Does anyone have, or can point me to towards a circuit diagram
(Schematic) for an SWR Baby Blue bass amp.
At this point all I need to know is the value of the Master Volume pot.
Audiovox VE920 blown chip U101, please help me ID it09 Aug 2008 22:20 GMT1
We have an Audiovox VE920 under-counter LCD TV that has a blown SMD
chip U101.  When I say blown I mean the top was literally blown off of
it, rendering the markings pretty much unreadable.
I suspect it is a HEF4051B 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer
My VRDS-7 doesn't read the TOC09 Aug 2008 17:49 GMT7
I'm trying to repair an old cd player, based on a VRDS-7 TEAC mechanic.
The problem is: when I put the disk (both original or cdr), the drawer
closes, the clamp loads the cd, the laser moves towards the center of
the disk and the disk starts spinning. After 4-5 sec, the disk stops ...

OK, a bit off topic but may apply to others at universities as they
upgrade their computer
systems.
So UPenn and Drexel have pulled the plug on their USENET news
