CRT Monitor Blew Up?12 Jun 2008 09:24 GMT9
Have an older 23" CRT VX1120 monitor.  I lowered the resolution on it
to 1280 x1024 and a few minutes later the screen went out and now it
is totally black.  Could something of blown up since I lowered the
resolution?  Or was it most likely just a coincedence that it failed

you must have the original remote control, which I do.  Any help will

Running capacitor12 Jun 2008 00:18 GMT7

Anyone who has ever owned a Volvo 240 wagon will know that there's one
really annoying design flaw in an otherwise nearly bulletproof car. All
the wiring for the rear wiper, power lock, defogger, center brake light
and license plate lights passes through the hinges so that it ...

Viewsonic PF790 shuts down within seconds10 Jun 2008 21:47 GMT5
I've started looking into a problem with a Viewsonic PF790 monitor
that I've had sitting in the closet for the last year or so.  The
problem is that about 1 second after turning the switch on, it stops.
The green led on the front panel remains on, but the degauss relay
Erratic output on Kenwood KR-A503010 Jun 2008 18:22 GMT12
This receiver seems to work fine in every respect except that the volume
knob has to be turned up to a modest value before the speakers come on.  This
will occur regardless of whether the speakers are actually enabled.
After that, it will usually run at any volume until power cycled

I'm trying to fix this monitor for a local church.  The separate
switching power supply is labeled 12VDC, 4 amps.  Unloaded, the
supply is fine - about 12.2V, and the indicator LED shows solid
green.  Loaded with parallel 10-ohm resistors, for 2.4 amps, the

Roland ST100DR Guitar Amp10 Jun 2008 11:22 GMT2
Apologies to anyone that feels that this is the wrong group for this
post as preliminary testing seems to indicate that the amp is fine

bit about the technical specs and whether there are schematics or
