I'm wanting to determin if my power supply voltages are correct on my
dead LCD TV. On my power supply board the output voltages are printed,
but since the set doesn't turn on, the only voltage I see present is 5
volts on the stand power supply pin.

20 year old white zinc oxide ? loaded thermally conductive grease , somewhat
crumbly and cream instead of white in the covered areas under
transistors/mica, ie not openly exposed to air.
Normal aging or long-term / repeatedly run at times over-temperature or both

Had a bad week: Three VCRs seem to have died on me at the same time.
1 A Proscan (RCA) which runs happily on its auto-set record command once a
week and I suspect that when it gets to the end of a tape, it cant eject so
it rewinds and starts again. It has been working like this ...

I am looking at a lcm-17 westinghouse LCD monitor the turns on and
powers off. I have not got it apart yet. Was there any know problems and
defects in these units?

Well not so much the connectors but manufacturers that use them , supposedly
