Cheap late model Black & Decker toaster got more and more reluctant to stay
down. I finally opened it up tonight and found the mechanism consists of an
electromagnet controlled by an electronic timer. Bread crumbs had collected
on top of the electromagnet and were creating a ...

I've got a 86 Nissan Stanza and when I turn the radio on, the music comes
on.  Then it will go off for a specific period of time, and then come back
on for good.  The period of time it is off seems to be growing.  The radio
itself looks fine during this music off time, display is ...
Current-sense AC over a threshold25 Apr 2008 18:47 GMT16
When in use, a few of our home theater components heat up the interior
spaces of our entertainment center to a temperature that I feel is too

Hitachi D-E65 cassette deck problems25 Apr 2008 06:54 GMT2
recently I was given a vintage Hitachi D-E65 cassette deck that seems
to be in pretty good shape.  However once powered up in I have found
that I cannot get the eject button to work on the deck - it simply
will not open, and I do not wish to force it.  There isn't a tape
High voltage electrolytics25 Apr 2008 06:37 GMT4
Does anyone know of a good source for HV electrolytics (600 or

companies still making them in small runs for those of us who (in
growing numbers) are still using and preferring tube audio?  Most

I've got a nice little Canon MV890 camcorder here which has a faulty video
head. Seeing as Canon don't supply spare parts I've been looking on eBay
etc. to get one to transplant parts from.
Problem is, I'm not sure what other models use the same mechanism.
