I recently got an ancient monochrome video monitor from a friend.  
This thing probably hasn't been powered on for fifteen or twenty years.
I'm thinking I will put it on a variac and turn it up slowly from zero
over several hours, to maybe let electrolytic caps reform, and avoid

Have a 27" Proscan that works fine once you get it to come on, but
intermittently will not start up.  When it won't start there is no 143 volts
standby voltage.  There is raw 150 volts, actually more like 160 volts.
Haven't yet  found any shorted or open components in regulator ...

Looking for the schematic for just this section if possible.  I am
pretty sure I have a flaky supply on one pin.  The VCR would work for
a while then display would blank out.  Working time got shorter and
shorter.

Everythingelse works. Reads DVDs and plays them. Good audio. Good and

Newer cordless handset powers up and plays ring tones, but
the display has no read out (it is blank except for the
working backlight).  Also, no dial tone.
Really need to get it working again.

I am having problems measuring the voltage of a 600 kW six pulse
bridge rectifier with a simple multimeter ....
it is runing through 3 pairs of thyristors (1800 V, 1500 A 200 μs

The notorious problem with band/stage amps, the guitar/mike leads making
poor contact inside the sockets.
For anyone saying replace, move to another thread.

Hello.  I have an old Mitsubishi projection tv that is having problems
with alignment.  I first noticed the problem when the television began
displaying two images; one blue, the other red and green.  When I
