FM Antenna04 Dec 2007 22:13 GMT6
I am getting to close up my walls after a basement remodel.  Before I do, I
was wondering if there was a way to fashion an FM antenna, such as coax or
something like that snaking up the wall, that might give me a bit of FM
reception in the basement.
Avometer Model 8 repair04 Dec 2007 21:06 GMT13
I have an Avometer Model 8 in excellent condition except for some corrosion

Before I have a go at stripping the compartment out and either cleaning or
replacing the corroded bits, has anyone any tips on doing this ?  Any

of the 4 slots is to push both levers down. I should be able to toast
2 slices at once, im pretty sure. Im thinking it is just wired wrong

Any suggestions for the best way to remove old flux from circuit

the flux seems to remain behind.

Decent Extended Warranty for SONY 46" LCD TV?03 Dec 2007 16:24 GMT2
My Sony KDL46S2010 is reaching the end of its 1 year manufacturers
warranty in Jan 2008. I received an extended warranty offer from Circuit
City to extend 1 year for $239, 2 years for $451. This seems a bit high
and I have some reservations about CC following through on a claim. ...
pot rot03 Dec 2007 11:38 GMT1
This might not seem important to the more-experienced in this group, but I
thought I'd share it.
About two months ago I pulled out some Lux components I hadn't used in 15
years and put them in my bedroom as a second system.
CCD-V800E Hi8 Camcorder03 Dec 2007 09:56 GMT1
I have two CCD-V800E camcorders. One of them developed a fault where upon
switch on of the camcorder slider power switch to either player or camera
position the on screen display appears in the viewfinder and then after a
few seconds starts to break up until after a few minutes ...

Someone asked me to look at this very expensive unit , but I declined.
Not seen and model number unknown.
Apparently there is something called OPC that checks the material of the

sharp lc 32gd6u02 Dec 2007 15:30 GMT1
When I plug in the TV I get a solid red light followed by one blink,
then two quick blinks, then a steady series of blinks (all red).
I called Sharp and they directed me to a service center. I took the TV
in and was told something about the circuit boards that I didn't quite
