I'm having problems with my STR-V555ES,when i turn it on i do not get

My 5 yr old ProView 19 crt has assorted minor issues, including a PS
failure I had repaired 3 years ago. Recently, the image periodically
slowly dims over a few seconds, like turning the contrast full down and
reducing the brightness. Gets medium dark, but does not disappear

I'm having another problem with my 27" Zenith Sentry 2. The picture
tube only shows a narrow slit of light across the middle of the tube.
This is evidently part of thr picture it should be showing.
Occasionally the whole picture will flash on for a few seconds, bright

One of the two main fuses blows instantly as soon as power is applied
to receiver.  I checked the main power supply caps 2@10,000uf and they
were ok.  I also checked the bridge rectifier and it was ok.  When I
remove the two power leads to the transformer it does not blow fuse.

In a pile of used and/or obsolete video equipment that was given to me
I found a 16 camera video multiplexer that is really cool and looks
brand new.  I hooked up the 2 video cameras I have and it worked fine

I have an old cie 7905A multimeter. When I measure a dc voltage it
gives me a value. If I permute the + and - leads I read another value,
some % different. I have opened the multimeter and i can see 4
potentiometers : ac, osc, cx, dc, all 200 ohm.

I have a 2 year old Toshiba MD13Q41 or MD20Q41 TV with DVD player that
has little or no sound on some channels and perfect sound on others.
