I know its not really worth the trouble but I recently picked up a load of

trying to repair RCA VR688HF VCR (because stand-alone VCRs
apparently are not manufactured/sold anymore), have reviewed
most of VCR repair FAQs, done most of things suggested there
except replace components in power supply, VCR still has

We have a Sony FD Trintron KV32FS17 TV which is giving us an error
code of 2 blinks *there is no video or audio, just the error code). We
have been advised that it signifies a short in the power supply
circuit and we need to change the power supply card.

I was thinking about updating a vintage receiver to a polarized plug
