Vox AC30 / 6 TB ,all valve combo from 200229 Oct 2007 17:34 GMT7
Ideally identifying which and dismissing the roady would make more sense for
this locally based, but made big-time band.
Failing that - concerning cut grommets encircling valves to act as retainers
in inverted amps. Lining the holes in the chassis where the valves pass
AVO 2 panel valve tester29 Oct 2007 13:52 GMT2
I have an AVO 2 panel valve tester which I intend to clean and get working.
I have the circuit diagram and operating instructions. The Serial No. is

As I don't know if it is faulty or not I am proceding with caution.
power supply issue on Denon AVR-160429 Oct 2007 12:07 GMT4
The amp goes into standby after about 5 seconds.  All the output
transistors checked ok, so I put an oscilloscope on supplies and
checked +/- B (50 volts).  The +50volts are fine, but the -50volts
supply goes to -50volts and then within a second goes back to zero.
De-soldering ICs with a hot air gun.29 Oct 2007 00:30 GMT11
In response to someone who emailed me a couple of
months back saying he did not believe it
was possible to desolder , with a hot-air gun,
ICs soldered in plated through hole pcb boards,
Phaser 6100 fuser cold28 Oct 2007 23:44 GMT1
I picked up a Xerox Phaser 6100 which starts the warmup cycle and then fails
with a fuser low temp error. I've only done a quick check so far and
verified that the fuser is stone cold. Before I tear into it, does anyone
know if there's a common problem with these? I'm thinking so ...
Schematic manual for a Fluke 6070A sig gen28 Oct 2007 22:35 GMT5
As per subject really. I have the user manual and service manual, but I need
the schematics to debug a start-up issue.
This unit has been out of support for 12 years. But it is (well, it was!) a
damn good unit.
300 W computer power supply28 Oct 2007 20:36 GMT6
I have this power supply we  stripped out of a pc we're junking. It
has a 12V 10A section. I would like to use it as a 12V bench supply

mitsubishi WS-55907 convergence and video28 Oct 2007 19:35 GMT2
Hi. Got a Mits WS-55907 here. Odd problem if they are linked somehow,
otherwise 2 separate problems.
Anyway, first off, I will replace the convergence STK392-570 chips, as I
have good power to them.
TV set won't stay on one channel28 Oct 2007 16:43 GMT11
My TV works fine except that it won't stay on the channel it's set to.
It keeps cycling through the channels as if the channel-up button is
being pressed.  The problem is not in the remote, since it happens when
the batteries are removed from the remote and the remote is put in a ...

Techwood PLR85 Receiver27 Oct 2007 12:52 GMT3
A friend of mine at work has a Techwood PLR85 Home Theater Receiver.
He recently had a party, and had a couple speakers outside, connected
to the receiver (indoors).  A sudden rain shower got the speakers (not
the receiver) wet outside, and since then, whenever he tries to power
