I see a phone answering machine on Ebay, maybe 10 or 15 years old, and it has "CPC Disconnect". I googled and learned that was Calling Party Control Disconnect. All of the google hits I can find involve fancy local phone systems

I have a Nakamichi CR-7A that works and sounds great, but it has developed a problem, and I am wondering how difficult it will be to repair. The flourescent meter window has stopped working.

I'm adding a section on LCD monitor repair in my engineering log. It turns out that fixing LCD monitors is fairly easy, since most of the time, it is the backlight inverter which fails, and on backlight inverters, most of the time it's specific components which fail.

This concerns a Motorola T720. I think I dropped it one time too many. It's dead. Putting it on charge made the screen backlight come on and sometimes it would say "Charging" but nothing else. Would not turn on.

Inserting disks you obtain "READING" message for a long time. Then "NO DISK". Inside inspection (as per FAQ): the spindle motor correctly runs.

I just bought a used Nakamichi RX-505 and it won't eject or auto- reverse. When I press the button, I can hear it engage and the mechanism responds, but no movement.

There is an undocumented method for aligning the 3 lcds in this Epson/ Sieko optical engine used in this InFocus model LP730 video projector. I have magenta borders to one side. If I could slide that LCD over about 10 pixels, everything would be OK.
