This set had a shorted hor output and an open 2.7 ohm fusible in the
power supply. I also did alot of soldering on the board as well. The
original output transistor was an S2000. The Thompson data sheet shows

i want to see if a short is causing a drain on my car battery.
i have a digital multimeter. one way i theorized was to connect it in
series with the battery via the earth lead and negative terminal.
is this logic sound? or will i fry my multimeter? is there any other

Basically is it normal for TVs to output 50V AC from core and sheild
to ground only when the TV is turned on?

Its getting worse on most tv stations now . they lower the program

I have just been given an Emerson/Orion 1995 model TC1375A color tv.
The power relay clicks on and off from the power switch, everything
else is totally quiet.  There is +150 or so volts at various points on

as you can see , all 4 channels traces jumps like crazy .
Readout is fine , only the trace is jumpy , in any time base and also
in  X-Y mode ....
