TWO monitors, same problem.
The first one: Sony multiscan E400, 19" chassis F99. This chassis is common

I have a circuit board with a surface mounted s-video connector.
The solder connections all look good, so perhaps the insides of the
connector are damaged.

We have an old Mirtone intercom at the apartment. What might be the reason
for the crackling  in the speaker when some one buzzs a tenant? It is worse
in some and not that great in all the suites.

I fried a diode used for protection in a Bearcat scanner. It was fried
by connecting the wrong power cord (reverse polarity) into it.
The AC adapter puts out 13.8VDC and 700ma. I tried replacing it with a
IN4001 and it powered up the display and started scanning.  However

I have an old Gateway EV700 monitor which shuts down after a few minutes of
use. It sometimes sort of flashes the screen as if maybe it's trying to start
back up, but is never able to on its own. It will come back on for a few
seconds if power cycled, but will then shut down ...

Can anyone help me with the value of a resistor on an Onwa tv set
Model KA 120, the resistor location is R424 and located from pin 7
of the HT coil, is a 1/8w, The one I have is burnt beyond

It's a JVC AV-27920 television, circa 1995 or so.
I understand that manufacturers deliberately build in overscan so
that any shrinkage resulting from CRT aging won't produce visible
black borders.  But I would like see all the picture.

I opened the deck today and figured out that a gear on a motor had slipped
outward. I pressed it back and the deck functions. However, it seemed a bit
strange that both side of the deck had the same problem. After a closer

I salvaged a motor from a mates tumble dryer (made by servis I think)
Not 100% sure on how to wire it up.
Mounted to the motor is a socket which has 3 wires leading to the motor, 1
red, 1 white and 1 blue labeled,

What would be normal and what acceptable for a solid state or valve/tube
stage amp. ?
Well you would not want the gain/ output audio to go up over an hour of use
with a constant input.
