Rewinding a motor stator17 Jun 2007 13:52 GMT14
Got a bit tired of electronics and as my old hand drill, i only use for
counter-clockwise left-hand drilling, is playing up so I decided to give it
a birthday present of a new coil. It was supposed to be for 240V but running
off 110V via a variac was ok for my purposes, but now the ...

to this group.  The old mail browser I'd been using got overloaded,

2002 Toyota Camry Radio 86120- AA04016 Jun 2007 16:25 GMT5
The above radio went black but continued to play.  When we tried to
change the sound level or the station, the controls didn't  work.  I
checked both fuses and they were ok.  The radio turns on with the
ignition and plays on that one channel.  Is this fixable at a
AKAI AA-1200/117516 Jun 2007 11:59 GMT4
I have an old AA-1200 receiver that works intermittently.  When it
cuts out I can detect a relay on the circuit board changing states.  I
assume some protection circuit has detected an unsafe condition and
shut it down.  My problem is I have no information on the unit.  Can

Tek 2246 scope, need transistor15 Jun 2007 17:39 GMT8
Hello:  Upon removing the case from my 2246 scope, the case snagged on
the heat sink of one of the transistors in the "VO Gain" section of
the main PC board (not the processor board), breaking the leads of
this transistor.  The transistor is a round metallic 3-lead transistor
Plasma service manuals, no PS or syscon schematics?15 Jun 2007 06:34 GMT5
How come plasma service manuals come without a power supply and syscon
schematic ? I paid 25 US$ and i'm told manufacturers never publish PS
schematics in the service manual. Incidentally the TV i'm trying to
fix is a Hitachi 42PD7800TA Plasma display panel. The ps is made by

What happens when you accidentally spill water into an electrical outlet?15 Jun 2007 04:12 GMT2
Ok, So I got home today from class and my brothers tell me that my

Soldering iron problems14 Jun 2007 19:27 GMT24
I know this should be simple but isn't.  I need to resolder a DC power
connector on a laptop, due to dry joints.
I can't find my old, rarely used soldering iron, so I went to Maplin and
bought their cheapo 30W soldering iron.
