Vibration testing of combo amps19 Jun 2007 13:38 GMT8
Because of neighbours and respect for my own hearing I can only check out
combo amps, after repair, in the thermal and electrical power sense with a

Phillips TV does not hold default channel19 Jun 2007 00:53 GMT12
I got a used 1992 Phillips 21" set. Set it manually to channel 73 for Dish
Network, to replace a smaller set at the same RF connection. It worked
normally with Dish Network, where the remote changes channels. Turned it
off, still plugged in and connected to Dish Network.

DIN loudspeaker socket18 Jun 2007 13:43 GMT4
I'm sure many have seen the old 2-pin DIN type speaker connector, which
consists of one pin + one blade...
I have a DIN socket variant that consists of pin-blade-pin - in other words
the speaker plug can also be inserted when reversed by 180 degrees. One

Samsung VCR with sound/video problem?18 Jun 2007 02:13 GMT1
I have a slightly broken Samsung SV-651B VCR, which plays and records
(albeit in monochrome) but the sound does not work on any mode.
On playback, the picture seems to be mistracking in a cycle, yet it
responds to tracking adjustment.

I have (free) Adobe Reader V5.0 (Windows 98SE computer).  I bought a .PDF

LCD Diaplay temperature issue?18 Jun 2007 00:26 GMT7
A Gateway 26" LCD monitor/TV is getting warm. I measure 115oF (45oC) with a
contact-type thermocouple sensor attached to a DMM.
I'v been considering adding a couple of small 12v box-type vent fans to get
rid of some of the heat from the active components in the back of the unit.
