My friend had a plasma tv and said it was expensive to repair when it broke down. Do these things break down more than regular television sets?

Any help in troubleshooting this TV is appreciated. Fuse is good, horizontal output is good. I have 154v on the collector in standby so my power supply is good. I'm thinking Flyback or HV splitter. Thanks for any help.

I have an Apex 19" TV here, only three years old. It's been occurring that the picture gets vertical jittering (and looks slightly washed out) for maybe half a minute - then it gives one big jump and then it's okay for a long while.

I have a Watlow F4 Temperature controller (full Part No. F4PH-CAAA001RG). I want to connect a solid state relay to its "Switched DC" output so I get zero crossing switching but I'm unsure if this requires a SSR with random or Zero Crossing switching. The manual doesn't help:
