Dead Panasonic AG-MD830E SVHS VCR09 Apr 2006 19:45 GMT1
I have a Panasonic AG-MD830E S-VHS VCR that will not power up. The
fuses are all good. I have removed the power supply module, and the
main components (other than capacitors, transistors, resistors, coils,
and op-amps) include an STR-M6545 IC (4-pin) and a VLT0731 transformer.

What control signal to the main CD micro would disable spinner drive.
Taking the I/P H(ish) of the releavant 1/4 of the BA6398 quad motor driver

Too HOT to handle? Daewoo DTQ27S2FCV.09 Apr 2006 14:29 GMT6
I'm servicing a Daewoo DTQ-27S2FCV television. The HOT and switching
regulator transistor were shorted. I replaced the HOT with an RCA sub but
still stamped with the original part number, 2SD1880. I replaced the
regulator with an NTE 379 which is a sub for an E13009-2. The set ...

I am currently converting an old sit-down racing arcade game into a
dedicated xbox racing game.  I know that probably sounds funny.
Basically what I have is this...I purchased an old arcade driving
cabinet that was gutted.  (the original arcade monitor and controlling
Old oven timer makes a noise when oven is off09 Apr 2006 04:04 GMT4
This is an old electric powered oven. Ive never touched the timer but
it is giving off a noise like low boiling water. The transformer is hot
to the touch. Disconnected power to oven and noise stopped. I assume
that when the timer and oven are off that the transformer should not be

adding a second hard drive to dvr08 Apr 2006 23:10 GMT12
Hello people, I currently run a DVR which records CCTV images around my
home. It has a 250GB HDD but I want to add another 160G via using an
external HDD housing. As my DVR housing only supports one HDD, would
adding another (externally) cause an electrical overload?          Mr J
Zenith shut down08 Apr 2006 23:07 GMT1
Model #B25AO2Z - Set attempts power up as seen by horizontal flash on
picture tube but never comes up. Hitting the power button repeats the
symptom. I was guessing this may be in the horizontal section so Iv'e
checked several caps in the area, but haven't replaced the HOT since it

out" form or "variable resistance" form to control the channels? I

if someone could confirm? I'm trying to modify one to accept inputs
Pioneer RPTV-randomly goes into standby08 Apr 2006 16:32 GMT1
I have a Pioneer Elite Pro-1009w RPTV that works beautifully except
that every once in a great while, it will switch itsself off (goes into
standyby) with no symptoms of any kind before doing this.  Is this a
common problem with these sets?  I will be checking solder joints on
Sony KV-26XBR400 no picture08 Apr 2006 15:24 GMT3
I'm working on the above mentioned set for someone. Symptom is no
picture, sound is fine. At first it was intermittent and would respond
to smacking it but now it doesn't, as is usually the case the owner
continued to use it for about 9 months until it quit entirely.
