Car CD-Player makes noise/doesn't eject CDs23 Feb 2006 04:19 GMT4
I have a Clarion DXZ545MP car receiver. Recently it does not eject CDs. It
makes a repeated clicking sound as if the mechanism can't move & then gives
up. I opened it up (past the point of no return even though I don't know what
the hell I'm doing; I usually could just ...
Sony GDM-F50023 Feb 2006 03:38 GMT3
The problem is a constant pincushion effect that is concave at left and
right sides of the screen. I have the schematics for this model. Any ideas
on what might be causing this? A bad cap? I'll try some freeze spray on  a
few areas.
Apple iPod 20GB23 Feb 2006 00:16 GMT5
Reposting since it appears the previous message did not post.
My college aged son's 16-month old 20GB IPod (2nd generation I believe) died
a few days ago.  The LCD display  is still working and the battery seems
fine as well.  When the USB cable is plugged into to computer, it ...
abt stepper motor22 Feb 2006 19:15 GMT4
a stepper motor is microstepped. when pulsed, the shaft moves by a
small step and then returns to its original position, ultimately
producing no revolution at all. this happens for the entire duration of
the pulse.

I'm quite new to arcades but not to electronics.  I had some problems with
two monitors and now I want to understand what's going on !
First, I have a JAMMA Mortal Kombat 1 pcb wich works fine.  Since I don't
know a thing about monitors and isolation, at my first attempt to plug ...
waffle iron wiring22 Feb 2006 13:39 GMT6
I have an old waffle iron that has served us faithfully for many years, but
it has developed a problem with the old wiring in it in that in some places,
the insulation is falling apart.  I would like to rewire it as the rest of
it is still ok.  Question - what's out there for ...

yet another ESR meter thread21 Feb 2006 22:35 GMT7
Out of curiosity, who among you own and/or use both a Sencore Z-meter
(pre-LC103) and one of the portable, dedicated ESR testers?  How does the
latter stack up against your Z-meter in terms of measurement speed, accuracy
and ruggedness?  Which do you use more often on your bench?
Hitachi Ultravision Model 50UX26B Intermittent Power Shut Down21 Feb 2006 14:31 GMT5
We have a Hitachi Ultravision Model 50UX26B projection TV that was
made in July 1996.  Lately it has been shutting itself off at random
times.  Hitting the power button on the remote usually turns it back
on again (you actually need to hit the power button twice; the first
what product to use?21 Feb 2006 09:59 GMT6
I have a 9/16" threaded shaft which screws into a socket.  The threaded
shaft seems to be plated with chrome or nickel.  The socket seems to be a
stainless or aluminum alloy of some sort.  The threaded shaft has "set" in
the socket, and doesn't want to unscrew.  As of yet, I ...

Sanyo DS31580 Dead - Blown Fuse21 Feb 2006 04:55 GMT2
I have a Sanyo 31" TV that is dead with a blown fuse.  I replaced the
fuse and now it turns on, I hear the whine of the flyback, and then it
turns itself back off.  There is no schematic inside the case either.  I
think it may be the flyback and the HOT along with a power resistor ...
