Who's still making CRTs?26 Feb 2006 01:14 GMT18
A buddy of mine asked if I'd shop a new Dell system for him.  I was
surprised to see Dell still shipping CRTs with nearly all of their low-end
systems.  Anyone know who's still making CRTs?

Sony KV32S22 - half-way back from the dead - what now?25 Feb 2006 22:25 GMT9
My 1997 vintage KV32S22 died completely during the final moments of the AFC
playoff game last month.  After reading this group and a bunch of googles, I
decided to give repair a chance.  A few minutes with a meter showed the
common failure mode of a shorted HOT (Q502) that killed ...

I have an electrical problem with my rental unit.  The house is about
40 years old, I have owned this house for 18 years and I have rented

CRT Tube Socket25 Feb 2006 18:39 GMT5
I have a CRT Tube socket that's arc'ed pretty bad internally.  It causes
large areas of the picture to black out.  If you hit it, it comes back
then goes again.  I contacted the US rep and they don't sell parts.
They quoted me $75.00/hour + parts + shipping.  Ouch.  Anyways, I took
Torn speaker25 Feb 2006 16:12 GMT15
I have a set of logitech x-620 speakers and the bass speaker is torn.
I've read a lot of ways to fix it, but there's 2 things in life I'll
never understand.  Refrigerators and speakers.  I just don't understand
them.  Besides, a patch is only temporary.

Hi, I'm attempting to fix a Rickenbacker TR75 GT amplifier, circa 1971.
The power amp is dead. The output power transistors have gone CE
closed-circuit and power resistors in the output are open circuit. I
think the previous owner shorted the output. Other components seem OK,

I use a HP Laserjet 1160 for overprinting glossy colour flyers,
