I have a HP UNIX workstation which has sat in a garage for a couple of
years. I've bought it out of storage, powered it up and it worked for
about 30 hours or so. Now it has died. I have reason to believe the
switch-mode power supply might not be fully functional, although it is
lots of used electronic items...27 Feb 2006 15:10 GMT3

Sony HCD-GX450 laser27 Feb 2006 11:47 GMT12
I had this compact stereo come in with the usual no play cd
symptom. took it apart to look at and clean the laser.
Closer inspection showed the top of the laser was flat instead
of the rounded coated lens that's usually on the top of the laser.

I don't have the original remote for this TV and the universal doesn't
allow me to access the function menus. Originally, I was just trying to

Magnavox RH8524 dead27 Feb 2006 05:32 GMT3
Got an older projection TV that quit working.  Power switch turns set on
however that is it.  No sound or picture.  It is a NAP PTV300 chassis.  I
checked the HOT on the deflection board and it is ok.  At this point, I'm

Weird feedback problem on alarm clock27 Feb 2006 03:16 GMT3
My alarm clock makes a weird noise about one night every 6 weeks.   The
noise happens all night for a few seconds every 20 minutes.  It is the
same kind of noise you hear if you get a mobile phone too close to a
computer.  Kind of a stuttered buzzing.  Does anyone know why this

the picture.  The rest looks normal.  Is this a common ...

Awhile back, it was diagnosed on the newsgroup that I have a bag flyback
