My handy cam (Hi8) has problem loading the tapes. As soon as you load the tape it will close and in about 5 seconds eject itself. I have verified all the mech parts they all look OK. Any thoughts if anyone else came across this problem?

Is it possible to replace just the mechanicals of a VCR? On my RCA VR712HF, it requires only six screws and one small ribbon cable to remove the entire tape transport system. Where can I buy this assembly? Does anyone know the part number for it? This model of VCR is no longer

When you take the cover off there are three adjustable screws behind the head ( in what appears to be a RF booster?) and three adjustable screws below the head under the tape deck. I have played with all of them and they do not appear to make any difference to the picture...
