Battery holders30 Nov 2005 18:55 GMT3
My niece spilled chocolate milk on her Sponge Bob video game and it later
quit working.  My investigation showed that the AA battery holder had
suffered some mild corrosion/oxidation thus effectively turning off the
little machine.  After a good cleaning all is well now.

Sony SLV-R5UC - purple pic in EE - bad cap, which one?30 Nov 2005 12:23 GMT7
I need your help, desperately.  I have an old VHS Sony SLV-R5UC.
Playback of a self-recorded tape has a purple tint on the bright
portions of the picture.  Playback of a pre-recorded tape is OK.
If you were to simply record color bars, or any other test pattern, you
LCD TV Problem - Vertical Line - HELP!30 Nov 2005 09:52 GMT4
I've had my 27" LCD TV for about 6 months now and I am already
experiencing a picture problem.  Granted, it's not a Sharp or Sony, so
I guess that serves me right.  The TV is Norcent - but I've heard good
things about them from a friend that has had one for a while.  I guess

I have a Johnson Red submersible water pump (model unknown)
240v 60Hz with two sensors (probably water level and heat).
There is 3 wires to the motor windings, start and two run. I have tried
using a contactor (controlled by pressure switch) to no success.  The
My new TV has 3 dead pixels...30 Nov 2005 07:28 GMT11
Just had a 32inch standard (not LCD/Plasma) Toshiba widescreen delivered
this weekend. All seemed fine, but I switched it on this morning, and after
watching it for a bit, I noticed 3 dead pixels.
How common is this? Are there likely to be more die? To be honest, they're
ionic breeze ion transformer diode30 Nov 2005 07:26 GMT10
I have two Sharper Image Ionic Breeze units.  These worked good
when they worked.  One broke about a year after I bought it, the second
broke just recently.  Actually, they both seem to be making high
voltage, but now neither are moving air.  I suspect the rectifier
Panasonic CT32SX31 power supply30 Nov 2005 00:29 GMT3
I have a panasonic in for repair. You have to push the power button
several times in order the get the relay to click. When it does I hear
a high pitch from the power supply and then nothing. I get no HV from
the flyback even for a second> I hooked up my HV probe and get no
LCD Schematic Needed - Beckhoff / TopVision 29 Nov 2005 22:02 GMT2
I have recently been given a Beckhoff Model CP6003-1002 Industrial 18" LCD
monitor that is in non-working condition.  I believe that this unit was
actually manufactured by TopVision as that's whose name is on the controller
boards inside the unit.  It appears to have a power supply ...
Replace the Nicam Decoder in B&O ME6000???29 Nov 2005 21:46 GMT2
I have an old (13 year) B&O ME6000 television. When stereo is on, and
people hare talking, the "s"-sounds are scratchy.. When I turn into
MONO-sound the sound is perfect.
I have been told that the problem lies in the Nicam Decoder being
Mitsubishi CS-2020129 Nov 2005 20:14 GMT1
I purchased a Mits CS-20201 a few years ago for my mother who is in a care
center.  Apparently, one of the aides "misplaced" the owner's manual - as
in probably threw it out with the trash.
Do you have a copy of the owner's manual or know where I could download
