a problem where the set wont power on, had low standby voltage. Replaced
C432 (known problem) and fixed cold solder on 2 res next to the cap. Now,

Monitor powers up into standby (amber LED).
When the PC is turned on the monitor switches out of standby (green LED)
but there is no display.

Just had my old Soundstream USA 364 installed in a new car (after
working just fine in my old one) and, within a few days, the left side
of the "channels 1-2" half went completely dead. The right side is just
fine, as is the "channels 3-4" section.

You know some breaks the "rules" by going whiter than whites (above
the standard max on the video color contents signals?
Well on dish and on certain DVD that has too bright images and extreme

I have an Epson Photo Stylus 750 printer that I can't get to print black.
I've tried the Windex in the ink snout tube trick, I've tried multiple cartridges many, many clean cycles and no black. Some black printed with the Windex but no more.
Is it possible the head is shot? If so ...

A while back, I posted about a high voltage failure problem on an NEC AS120
monitor.
The symptoms were as follows:

I have a 15 year old Sony KV-27EXR15 TV.  Been a super TV for me for
15 years.
For the past couple years, when I first power it up (cold), the video

Our apartment (built early 60's) is woefully underpowered.  There's
one 20A circuit to service the entire living room, dining area AND
kitchen.  However the stove and oven have separate 220V circuits
and breakers.

This DTV307 60" unit is hell to transport and is located nearly 30
minutes drive from our shop out in country and is a big-time dog now.
Original compliant was botchy picture traced to a spotty CRT, changed
that.  Unfortunely had to change all other two CRTs to stop the

Multi-strand VS Solid Copper wire30 May 2005 01:25 GMT2
Other than flexibility and ease of routing the wire--is there any
practical advantage for using multi-strand copper wire in a 12V DC
application over insulated solid copper wire? Application is supplying
power to a 12V 6 Amp water pump.
