DVD/VCR combo04 Jan 2005 23:53 GMT15
My mother-in-law has requested that I assist her in purchasing a DVD/VCR
combo unit.  I explained all the reasons that it would be better to have 2
separate units, but she is insistent on the one unit for 3 primary reasons.
First is that her space is limited.  Second is that way she ...
Sony Tri-Wing Screw04 Jan 2005 23:02 GMT5
I'm trying to fix a Sony PEG, and I'm not having any luck finding the
screwdriver I need.  It's a tri-wing, but it's tiny.  If it were a
phillips I would call it a 00.  Does anyone know where I can find one
of these things?  I called all the various departments at sony, but the
LCD CFT backlight inverters04 Jan 2005 22:52 GMT7
I got in a 17" LCD monitor with a dead backlite. It had a sampo
QPWBGLQ231DLF inverter for dual CFT lamps in it. It had no voltage on
either bulb, so i pulled the inverter board out.

Old VCR repair manuals04 Jan 2005 19:48 GMT4
I have acquired the documentation from a defunct TV repair shop. It was from
a dear friend that gave up the business that he started when he was

TV giving bad reception04 Jan 2005 17:37 GMT9
Using rabbit ears works fine around here, but recently channels 2-5 are too
snowy to watch, channel 7 is sometimes OK, and channels 8-88 are fine.  All
stations have transmitters on the same mountain, so I'm thinking the problem
is with either TV or antenna.  I have moved the ...

I've got a couple of Panasonic NV-9100 U-Matic video players that display
similar symptoms.
The tape is withdrawn from the cassette by the loading arm (probably not the
best use of terminology, to be sure), but the arm halts before reaching its
Flakey LCD display on PowerBook04 Jan 2005 17:20 GMT2
The display on my four-year-old Powerbook G3/FireWire (Pismo) is
starting to flake out. It's had the usual regional dimness for a while,
mostly the lower-left corner, and I assume that's the CCL bulb. However,
now there's something digital going on. It manifests itself in
Calibrator Wavetek 900004 Jan 2005 15:46 GMT3
Hi, can anybody enlighten me whether Wavetek at some stage supplied
a Service manual for the Wavetek 9000 (at cost) which included the circuit
diagrams
and if so is there a place where one could purchase such manual.
