Sony STR-GX10ES tuner in Japanese mode08 Jan 2005 22:01 GMT6
This Sony STR-GX10ES receiver works great apart from the tuner seems
to be in the wrong mode.  It tunes from 79-90 MHz on FM and 522-1611
kHz on AM in 9kHz steps.  I think this is the Japanese FM band.
There's no obvious switch for changing tuning modes and I'm sure this
Phone a/c power source adapter08 Jan 2005 21:13 GMT3
I recently got an old Canadian NT Meridian M9009 + phone, which works fine as a phone (dials out and receives
calls). The other functions, like a number display, Hold, Save, Rls, and some way of saving phone numbers to
buttons marked 1 to 5, a volume control, aren't accessible ...
AC Repulsion motor dual voltage selection - solved 08 Jan 2005 20:31 GMT1
Thanks Sam and Alan for causing me to rethink along my original lines
for wiring.  The series connection of the field of course was for the
higher voltage and the connection I orginally settled on as being for
the low voltage was indeed for the high voltage.  What I missed was ...
Sony Trinitron goes off and on, off and on08 Jan 2005 20:28 GMT17
I've got a bulky Sony Trinitron XBR exhibiting weird symptoms.  First I
noticed that it was taking an inordinately longer time to come on when
turned on.  It takes anywhere from thirty seconds to two minutes to get the
degaussing click and for the red light to start flashing on the ...
AC Repulsion motor dual voltage selection?08 Jan 2005 20:16 GMT7
Howdy all....Have been asked to wire up an old 1hp 115/230VAC repulsion
motor for the higher voltage with a desired rotation.  This is digging
back a little far into the memory bank for me......4 wire winding and no
diagram or legend on the wires but I tried the windings in ...

Sony 13" KV-1370R F-Conn broken capacitor ...08 Jan 2005 19:14 GMT6
I have a Sony KV1370R that is coming up on it's 20th year of service.  The
set works fine except that recently it "jumped" off of the table and the
Capacitor in Series with the UHF input was destroyed when the bulkhead
mounted F-Connector was ripped out of the back of the set.
Sun Monitor Tuneup - how?08 Jan 2005 17:53 GMT8
I recently acquired (from the dumpster) several Sun Microsystems 20"
monitors, model GDM - 20D10, which appear to be Sony Trinitrons on the
inside. They are really nice when working properly, but were
manufactured in 1994 so probably aren't worth sinking $ into.
grundig flatliner08 Jan 2005 17:38 GMT2
Christmas. It had to happen. My Grundig TV, ST 55-727, went duff. Sound
perfect, picture in Ultra ultra wide screen mode ie, 3cm in center. Ok
for a postman's view of programming but my other half not well pleased.
Vert's gone. Anyone with a cure?
Sumitomo Transistors any good?08 Jan 2005 16:34 GMT5
Can anyone please help me?
I am working on a Crest 1400 power amp.
I replaced all 6 pairs of b600/d555 outputs (1 chan).
The amp played fine for 10 minutes at low volume

Loewe Xelos TV common problem?- tips/someone to repair maybe08 Jan 2005 15:41 GMT2
Hi there I have one of these 28" widescreen units. It has developed the
fault once fully warmed up:
red lines in picture, brightness flickers, intermittently switches off.
This is listed in the Euras database http://www.euras.com/ but I
Toshiba TV Model CF30C50 has low sound output...08 Jan 2005 15:09 GMT4
I don't have a schematic; I've substituted out a few of the larger
capacitors one at a time (assuming a bad power supply capacitor).  But I'm
just guessing.  Anyone have experience with this model or know of a good
(cheap) source for the schematic?  I've done TV repair in the past, ...
Pioneer PRO-1009W (SD-P5795W) PS problem08 Jan 2005 14:05 GMT1
I'm starting to diagnose power supply shutdown problem that has progressed
from about once per month during long period of operation to a regular
failure now within a few seconds of power-on.  I do have schematic repair
manuals, but no diagnostic procedures.
Panasonic NV-EX1B Camcorder - rear flap door replacement08 Jan 2005 13:47 GMT2
I need to replace the rear flap door of this unit. I have the replacement
part, I have moved all the necessary components from the old to the new one,
but cannot find how to access the screws retaining the hinge pins. I have
had all the sections apart from all sides but still cannot ...
