I have a Denon Radio/CD player that has been dropped, pushing the power
outlet connector in.  The section of pcb that branches off to the power
outlet connector has cracked across the two wide tracks leading to the
connector.  I plan to solder some wire to the tracks to bridge ...

A lot of these cute little phones (mine included) seem to suffer from

I almost can't believe it, but after 35 years, I still get confused
about positive and negative.  Sorry to bother you, but I just can't
remember.

Hair dryer fuse18 Jan 2005 19:06 GMT24
Heat element burnt out near the terminal so I rerouted and crimped it back
on and bypassed the blown thermal fuse with a 1/2" length of 18 gauge solid
copper soldered to the remains of the fuse leads. There is a bimetal thermal
cut-out in series with the fuse. Is this adequate ...

The T.V just suddenly went dead while it was on.  The standby light i

One possible solution for bright blue screen with retrace lines18 Jan 2005 16:50 GMT2
I was troubleshooting a bright blue picture with retrace lines.
I opened up the back, and I noticed that if I put a very slight
pressure on a vertical board (using a wooden stick,),
the problem corrected itself.

PTK169PGA: B+ Loaded Down!18 Jan 2005 02:19 GMT5
I have a RCA PTK169PGA RPTV that I have been working on and it has been a
real dog.  I can finally get the TV to come on, the audio is fine, but I do
not have full deflection in either the vertical or horizontal direction and
the convergence is way off.  I have found that at ...
LCD Computer Monitor Question18 Jan 2005 02:03 GMT5
Of all the brands of LCD computer monitors I have looked
at locally, none of them display equal brightness from top
to bottom without tilting them forward and/or looking down
from several inches above the upper border.
S-video jack18 Jan 2005 00:31 GMT2
Is S-video the same as regular video and left and right audio (such as
feeds a tv monitor, via RCA plugs), but just combined so it all fits
in one connector?   Or is it electrically different from that?
There are several reasons I would benefit from understanding this.

Thanks.

I am in Southern NH, zone 5b and am considering giving a fig tree a

winters; trenching, covering, bring em inside and plant along a south
facing wall.
