Thought I had this one figured out as an H/K short however, I'm wrong...
a) isolated heater and picture is still green
b) swapped red/green signals to the crt board and still green
c) voltages to the crt board for red/green/blue all similar

I want to test a transformer it is a dc transformer because after the
ac line he put a rectifier& filter to chopper& to the transformer its
resistance very low when I try test it I think it is a short circuit

I am trying to repair an old Technics SE-9060 amplifier.
The input stage in one of the channels sends out DC to the input
potentiometer.
The amplifier goes in protection mode unless the potentiometer is fully off

I've come into the possession of these scales, which have a serial
port and are spurting out characters. Unfortunately I've not idea what
the port settings are and I've no idea how the data is encoded.

Resoldering AC input circuits and IR, control button, and microprocessor
sections allow the set to power on normally for a few days.
Problem seams to be in the standby power supply going down after a while.

My TV has this problem that after a few minutes that its on, the screen
becomes wider and in the same time becomes black.
If I hit the TV set from the top, the picture comes back for a while and
then disappears again.

In connecting a Boss digital multitrack to an Alesis RA500 power amp, the
amp outputs a fair amount of  power supply and disk drive activity noise
from the recorder.  The Boss has an external switch mode PSU wall wart.  ...

My compaq MV900 montior has begun to "shut down" after about 20 minutes of
use - - if I wait 1 hour I can power it back on.
Anyone know which components i have to replace ?

I have a problem with a Hyundai Excel 1994 in that when the engine is
cold the motor starts to rev to maximum about 5 minutes after starting
the engine. It will go back to normal after a further 10 minutes. The
problem is worse in hot weather.

Can a common fluro ballast eg for 20 or 40watt tubes be used as a
filter choke in a  tube type power supply? Any idea what typically the
inductance is?

Hitachi C1714TE TV - lower half of picture disappears02 Nov 2004 23:03 GMT1
This TV was bought as DOA and restored to life by replacing the Field
Output chip (a common Hitachi fault, apparently).  Now, after some six
months, occasionally (up to twice a day) the lower half of the picture
disappears and is replaced by a bright horizontal line in the middle
