My 2230 scope suddenly died the other day.
It's a great piece of equipment and I would like to repair it (if possible) or
 pay for it to be repaired if economically viable. I have a contact in the TV
repair trade who may be able to help (he repairs switcher PSUs regularly).

I have an Akai CT-21W9AT(S3) TV (in Australia) with no color. The owner is
resigned to ditching it, so I'm looking at the problem as a favor. Although
I have tackled scores of TVs with most problems, I have never done any

Yup, me again!
I got the set so it will come on however if I put a signal to it, the
picture blanks out.  The color is good and when I have no signal present,
the crt cathode voltages are 140 red, 130 green, 140 blue.  I put a scope on

my receiver is acting up as in no matter what mode (stereo-surround-normal),
the front left speaker doesn't work - or will kick in intermittently. It
normally will kick in at a loud sound ect. but then kick out not long after,
but if I switch the balance all the way left and BRIEFLY ...

Many of you know my PC isn't that great, but it must function just a little
longer and when I build another, it would be nice to have a backup. Heck the
thing is good enough to get on DSL and burn disks at least.

I have an old Dynohub that I would like to respoke to use on the
mountain bike which I just built. I clamped the axle nut in the vise
on my bench and spun the hub at what I would guess would be a road
speed of about 10MPH. The open circuit voltage, depending on speed

My 6 year old Viewsonic PT775 occasionally loses vertical deflection for
just the top half of the CRT.  What happens is a very bright horizontal
trace appears exactly midpoint across the screen, the top half is gone,
and the image below is normal.  Is this a yoke problem or ...

Found this by the side of the road and decided to give it a try.
Ordered a couple Sony TV p/s repair kits and after installing the first one,
I got a big fat spark from the flyback and dead components.
Replaced the flyback and p/s components again and now I can hear the set

I have just been given an HP 1650B logic analyser but I don't have a system
disk for it so I can't use it :-(
Anyone know where to get hold of this disk or can it be downloaded from
somewhere?

Hi fellow techs !!
This 1995 20" color TV has a bizarre bug.Sometimes I can hear the audio when the
power is turned OFF.The last channel tuned before turn off can be heard if I
listen closely !!

After fixing the tuner/memory problem on my ORION vcr, it has nor developed
another
problem...

I've not had any luck locating this IC, even from Tritronics, MCM, Philips,
MAT, Suburban, Partssolvers... Mitsubishi part# 270P777010, generic # (on chip)
TDA9177. Does anybody have a contact number for Mitsubishi Factory Parts, or
another source for this IC?

This is wierd, but working.
Ever since this thing started screwing up, well it ran X well. but now, I know
the battery isreally bad, or is being overloaded. The thing that gets me is
that now it's actually running better.

Set had a narrow blurry line up the middle
of the screen, found pincushion capacitor
bad, then another cap causing B+ to fluctuate!
Now set has a "rolling" display, even when checking
