Sharp widescreen TV - audio problem16 Nov 2004 15:38 GMT2
I have a 32" Sharp widescreen TV which is approx 3 years old.
Recently it has developed a problem with the sound.
After a few minutes (between 5 - 20 mins) of viewing there is a loud crackle
which sounds like static coming from both speakers.  The picture is fine but

My house will be empty for an extended period.  I will of course have

I have a Mitsubishi 27" TV with a new problem (along with several others,
but the rest don't bother me)...  the picture is squished so it has an
hourglass effect....
After operating for awhile, the picture will 'unsquish' to a normal picture

The problem is a bought a brand new Sony VCR a while ago and the
remote control will just stop working.  If I take one of the two AA
batteries out for a second then put it back in it will work for a
while then just stop working.

I had my fluorescent work bench lamp apart today to try to stop an
annoying intermittent buzz from the ballast.  It's a typical two 15W
tube with separate series inductor ballasts for each tube.  
I was surprised to see a 4.7uF cap in series with one of the ballasts,

Hi Guys, not a fault really, just something that has bugged me for a
long time. When you change channel, the OSD shows channel no & time.
How the heck do you adjust the time? I've tried every combination of
button presses I can think of to no avail. Obviously I don't have an

I have a 54" RCA rear projection. I had a new hardwood floor installed
with an electric heating grid underneath. The grid consists of heavy
screen mesh, similar to window screen but 2-3 times heavier wire, laid
in one continuous circuit back and forth across the room. There is a

Is there a safety issue regarding special coatings etc to protect from RF
