I have an 8 or 9 year old Magnavox television that has a very
conditional problem.  During the daytime, the picture is great, but when
it is dark outside, not just dark inside, the picture gets interferance
in the top 1/3 of the screen, in the shape of a thick black line that is

Our home is fitted with a 19 year old wired intrusion alarm which has
worked faultlessly since it was installed by a sub to the the general
contractor who built the place. The only service it's required has been
changing the backup gel cell every few years.

I've got a monitor with a faulty VGA cable (pic goes bluish, ok if you twist
the cable slightly). I'm wondering:
1. How hard, dangerous, etc is it to replace a monitor cable? I'm figuring
it can't be more than a couple of solder points and knowing which wire

Hi can some one please help me out, I need values for R574 and R575 for
a sylvania TV model 6427CTA mfg in 2000 there is no chassis number only
a circuit bd with the production number BL1200F01012-1 I have looked on
manuals4U.com with out results a web search would indicate tat ...

It used to be that the volume on my tv set would suddenly become quite
lower than normal. I usually would be able to correct it by gradually
increasing the setting until it reached a certain point (about 80%) and
then the correct volume would suddenly kick in and blast your eardrums ...

I've had a RCA model F26667 tv for about 3 years.  It worked fine
until about a week when it started shutting itself off and making a
loud cracking noise while doing so.  I took the back off and blew off
all the dust and it worked for about a half hour or so after that but

I have a Fisher & Paykel washing machine with Smart Drive (?) The main
motor power module has "spat the dummy". The fuse blew and two diodes
on the input bridge rectifier self destructed. No replacement modules
are available. Can anyone give me a clue as to the most likely cause?

I have a problem with my Marantz CD67 MKII SE cd player. When initially
turned on the cd player has trouble finding CD tracks, sometimes coming up
with No Disc. If a CD plays in the player, it does so, but is completely
drowned out by a crackling noise.

I hope not to be too much OT and sorry if I am. Anyway, I've got
the following problem with my Pentax "Zoom 105-R" camera.
While switching it on, the zoom mechanism moves towards the maximum focal length (105 mm)

I wish there were a newsgroup specific to typewriters, but this seems to be where most of
the relevant info is. Where can I find a selectric type element with foreign
(spanish/french) accents, punctuation?

Hello all...
This set is an Emerson portable color TV, yet oddly enough it doesn't run on
batteries. Owner says it played in fits and spurts and now it is dead on all
modes--none of the TV or radio functions work. There is a faint burnt smell

I need an exploded mechanical view for a Centrex (Pioneer) model
RH-6161 turntable. Just need to find out where 2 loose springs go.

What do I look for in a visual inspection of a TV to know if it has remote
control capability  (absence of a flipper may not mean the set doesn't have
remote capability).
