Board-level repair of Thinkpad laptop:   how to test Hexfets??11 Jul 2004 04:06 GMT1
Thinkpad A31 laptop motherboard, no power-on.  It looks like either somebody
went revese-polarity with the wrong power supply, or the crappy solder
connection at the power supply jack caused the fuse to overheat.
I replaced blown surface mount fuse at power supply connector and ...

OK. I posted last night that my 8 month old Daewoo had changed its picture to
lime greens and pinks. Today I went and turned it on after it had set off for
about 15 hours, (just to make sure) and the picture is back to great color? Now
I know I checked the color and tint controls ...

Hello group!
Thought I send this question to you Pioneer experts..
Well, this unit came into my shop with blown secondary fuses (2 x
1,25A) which appears to feed the low power section of this unit.

Hey i have an old T.V. Its a Sharp tv model CX 6376. I have a problem with the cement (ceramic) resistor that goes to (A) which is a pair of cables going to the board that runs the CRT. I have replaced it with a 10W 6.8 ohm j of a similar type but shorted out. So i need to get ...
Central Air Flow Problem10 Jul 2004 05:51 GMT10
Wierd situation.  My air flow starts out fine.  Strong and cold.
Gradually, though, the airflow diminishes. After about 15 minutes, the
unit is still running, but it is producing no air flow through the
vents.  The vents still feel cold though, as if it were a blower and

seperate VCR were both on. The TV was fine. I pressed play to watch a video and
when the tape started to play the picture was ...
Sharp TV 1984 model 20J81C - fuse blown.10 Jul 2004 05:34 GMT8
The main power supply fuse has blown and I'd like to fix this myself
if I can find the components at fault. It had a burning smell at the
time it blew, however apart from the fuse itself I can find no signs
of burned caps, diodes or resistors etc. I have tried to find a

Fluke 79 -- Is rotary switch supposed to turn past last position?09 Jul 2004 20:55 GMT7
I just discovered that the switch on my Fluke 79 can be turned almost
360 degrees.  There is a stop preventing it from going CCW past 'Off'
and from turning CW to 'Off', but no stop preventing CW motion past
'Amps'.
Pioneer CLD-S104 tray motor doesn't turn09 Jul 2004 19:27 GMT2
The thing will power up and the "CD/LD" buttons will flash, then it sets an
error code, usually U1.  I've had the thing apart about three times.
