Are old high voltage components from microwave ovens useful, or should

Low contrast....image looks faded
From a cold star the raster doesn't fill the screen horizontally, then
slowly fills out as it warms up.

I can't seem to find any source of the pinout for the camera connector for
the portable U-matic recorders.
The FAQ has several other types, and U-matic sites have a couple of
different connectors (SCART and multi-connector), but not the Cannon/JAE

These were apparently common ICs with multiple sources for 3-1/2 digit panel
meters maybe 25 years ago.  Google doesn't seem to turn up any useful info,
just a few places to buy them.  I'm looking for datasheets or any other info,
or even a schematic of a sample meter that uses them ...

I'm rebuilding a battery pack for a laptop.  Can anybody recommend a
*reliable* inexpensive source for individual NiMH cells?
I need a total of 8 cells, type 4/3-A (1.2v, ~4000 mAhr), with solder

I have an Apex dvd player AD-500W with a DVS DSL-710A computer type
disc reader drive. When a video or audio disc is inserted the player
spins and searches the disc for a while then displays "No Disc".

I have a Pioneer PDM600 CD player.
The player will not recognize & play CDs
After opening case, I found it will load each disc from cartridge, but
drive motor does not spin. (yes, CDs are being loaded correct

Hello to everyone:
When I turn on the TV, when the screen shows up, it brightens up with 1 or
2 seconds.  I'm not sure if this is normal or a defect.  The TV that this
one replace (old Toshiba 26") had color problems, that's why I'm concerned.  

Can any one help with a code or code calculator or a way to bypass the "in
code" entry for this radio/tape?
