   I have a Sony VCR with a handheld r/c called
RMT-V402, a thin unit 8 inches long.  It works
intermittently if shake it or bang it.  Probably
a bad solder joint.

Over the years I've tried various oils etc to lube noisy/dry capstan bearings
with little luck. I get tired of replacing perfectly good albeit dry bearings.
I see Lubriplate is good to 350 degrees. Anybody try it or find something that
lasts and doesn't gum up in a couple weeks?

What are typical voltages P/P or RMS on fly-back transformers, anode
cups etc?
I'm looking at HV probes for my oscilloscope. a 2kV one is cheap enough
but 15kV is a little out my budget for a few weeks.

I am interested in getting information about the interchangeability of
displays in notebook computers.  Does anyone know whether LCD panels
for use in notebook computer use a DDC channel or some other mechanism
to identify themselves to the operating system for driver

Tried Google, Schematic Terrorist, etc etc. No luck. Even the Kenwood site
doesn't list the schematic for a KM-897 Power Amp. Can anyone offer me a link or
possibly pdf file for this amp?

I have a Toshiba CF3254J that currently has bright horizontal bands
that seem to eminate from any light colored objects on the screen, be
they in the displayed images (movie, etc) or the tv's function display
(volume bar, channel, etc).

This machine got caught up in a major leak during a storm! Stripping it
revealed water damage on the main processor (PTL) board. I thoroughly
cleaned it (dont ask how) and replaced one capacitor which had a badly
