This set had two (2) initial problems ... not sure if they are related:

I have a Sony DXA-H2750 in the shop. The belts need replacing and I suspect
that the motor is intermittently noisy. I would like to be able to test the
motor with my bench supply but was wondering what would be the proper way to
hook it up to power.

When copying, the light bulb under the glass doesn't come on which gives me
a solid black copy. Using an ohm meter shows the bulb is good. I don't have
a repair manual. Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried to wire my PowerColor 9200 VIVO monitor output of my PC to
RGB SCART
as described on http://www.idiots.org.uk/vga_rgb_scart/ but the TV is
missing blue in places and pink where it should be white in the middle

Dead set. No clicking, no high voltage, no buzzing, no nothing. Totally
dead.
HOT was very shorted. Replaced it, still dead.
Did some internet searching which led me to check the following:

          This monitor when first turned on goes from great contrast to
washed out and very light picture. If I tap the top of it it goes back then
slowly the picture will come back from great to washed out again . the more
it heats up the better it gets until its great again and ...

Well, here is my problem.  After a power surge, this VCR is dead.  It's
about 2 years old, and I had no problems with it until then.  I took it to a
repair shop, and they are going to charge me at least $80 for estimate and
repairs.  I was told that I am better of getting a new one.

Would anyone have some low priced service literature for a Zenith SG2037W?
Sams wants $20 for the Photofact.  That's a bit steep for a 1991 television
if you ask me.
