Hakko 936 vs. CSI Solder Station 1?29 Jul 2005 18:16 GMT2
Please pardon me for butting in here...
I'm a novice looking for something better than my ancient Radio Shack
soldering pencil.  After looking around, I'm coming to the conclusion
that a Hakko 936 is a decent soldering station at a decent pricxe.
Philips PM 3232 10MHz Oscilloscope28 Jul 2005 21:19 GMT2
Hello. I have recently acquired a Philips PM 3232 Oscilloscope. It did not
come with the necessary transformer to provide the 24VDC needed to run, but
upon openign a small compartment on the bottom, I think it may also accept
AC 110V mains input too. I am not sure where I could ...

Cheapo DMM25 Jul 2005 06:01 GMT30
I stopped by harbor Freight Tools last wk and bought a Cen-Tech DMm for
$3.99, which is even cheaper than the ones I got thru the mail.  And
that's with a 9V battery.  I like the separate on/off switch, because
you don't have to crank the rotary switch halfway around to turn it off.
question: sensitive device to measure very small changes in electrical/magnetic fields?24 Jul 2005 23:28 GMT6
I am looking for some equipment that is _very_ sensitive and is capable of
measuring _very_ small changes in electrical fields and magnetic fields? The
device must be able to record the measurements real time.
What should I be looking for?

individual components.

Gould DSO 400 manual and/or software?20 Jul 2005 17:17 GMT1

I have (hopefully) repaired a junked Gould 400 DSO and wondered if
anyone has an electronic copy of the manual?
Also...the 'scope has an RS423 I/O connector on the rear, does this mean

The Voltage Section functions no more and the design
is a bit wired for me, not a really straightforward design for
a voltage generation.

Interfacing two devices using RS-232 ports18 Jul 2005 08:03 GMT2
Hi.  I need to interface two devices, both offering a RS-232 port.  The
general idea is to read the output (weight) from an electronic scale
using it's RS-232 port, compose a string (containing control codes and
the message to be printed) and send the string to an industrial ink-jet
