B+K 830 Capacitance Meter26 Feb 2005 23:53 GMT1
I am looking for a manual on a B+K Precision 830 Autoranging
Capacitance Meter.  I didn't see any on BAMA.  Found one on the web
for $17, but seeing as how this device only has two switches and a
knob, I don't think there's $17 worth of info in the manual.

How much current safe for 30m extension?24 Feb 2005 20:27 GMT85
I am in the UK (so mains voltage is about 230V or 240V).
I have a reel of main extension cable made of 3-core 1.0 mm^2 wire
rated at 10 Amps.  So the nominal power rating would be about 2,400
Watts.  (Link to tech reference for the cable is below.)

Free Heath IO-18 scope, Washington DC area22 Feb 2005 00:03 GMT2
For any hobbyists/hams who are interested, I have a mostly working,
mostly intact Heath IO-18 oscilliscope available for pick-up.  Give it
to your kids to play with, use it as a station monitor, I don't care, I
just want it to get some use in a good home.
About computer mouse21 Feb 2005 07:49 GMT1
Many of you may have opened a computer mouse and have seen two slotted
wheels which rotates in one or another direction depending on how you
move the mouse.. (I am talking about an ordinary rolling ball mouse)
I was wondering how the bidirectional motion of these wheels are

Mystery Solitron coaxial connectors20 Feb 2005 16:29 GMT2
I have come upon a large batch of Solitron Microwave coaxial
connectors of a type which I don't recognize. They are Solitron

Could you please recommend a book that would teach me the basics of RS-485
and RS-422 ?  I have been in the library, using the computer to attempt to
find a book with RS-485 (or RS485, RS-422, RS422) in its title, but without
success. When I searched for "data communications" ...
