I have a pair of 'home made' Radford Monitor 1 speakers (I think they are monitor 1s anyhow) They have genuine Radford driver units, but the left speaker seems to have problems with its midrange drivers.

Why is there usually a capacitor connected between two connectors of some instruments such as a voltage supply, or between the supply line of a breadboard and its groud plate? Thanks,

I have a Fluke 8012A multimeter, and it now displays "BT" and all segments of the numeric display. I believe it needs a new battery, but I don't see one within the unit that's apparent. Anyone know how I can obtain one? Thanks.

Has anyone tried removing the carrying handle from a Tektronix 2211 (or similar) 'scope? It's the one that just pulls out under tension, and has a circle of lugs that locate into the main body. I'm trying to stack my equipment up and the handle is a pain!

I have a Tektronix 485 in the shop. The repair bill could be as high as $300. I have been offered a B&k 1590a for $380 . I do not know the B&K and have never owned one of their scopes. I like the 485 but it is pretty old. What should I do-fix or buy the B&K?
