TV antenna aimed out window23 Jun 2009 22:57 GMT3
If you installed a UHF TV antenna in your attic, and the attic had a
window which you could have the antenna aimed through toward the
transmitter, would doing so afford any benefit to reception?
Or could it make it worse (i.e. lead content in glass -- old house)?

Wanted: Old Multimeters for... umm... some blogging fun22 Jun 2009 01:41 GMT31
One of my video blogs about cheap multimeters really got a lot of
interesting feedback, so I got to thinking it would be fun to do some
"torture tests" on a bunch of multimeters for a future blog. i.e. are

magnetic flux question17 Jun 2009 08:03 GMT4

magnetic flux more easily travels through ferrite/soft iron then it does
air. so a coil with an air core is less "magnetically conductive" then a
coil with an iron core.

and if so what are they used for?

The nearest (2 UHF channels to the north) emanate from  40 miles away.
All the rest are from around 65 mi. southeast (UHF & VHF).
