Valves nowadays (just a reflection by a oldie)30 Sep 2008 04:26 GMT7
Reflecting on that recent post on the Jaycar 'valve' amp, and how piss-weak
the current valve fad is compared to how things used to be when valves were
useful rather than trendy. The biggest valves around these days in
commercial audiophool gear seem to be EL34s or something ...

I have a 12v bulb 12w with a switch with only a positive wire and no chance of getting a negative wire to pick-up.  It is an architrave switch so not a lot of room.  Is there any way I can get an indicator light/LED to work.
Is there some way of dropping the voltage slightly with ...
Mains plugs for 12V DC27 Sep 2008 17:40 GMT24

idea catches on!
how to find equivalent transistor27 Sep 2008 17:39 GMT8
I need to replace a 8050 transistor.
I found the data sheet on the web but no source to buy one.
(NPN TO92 IC 800mA 30V switching/audio, drives a siren pieco)
What's a proper way to find an equivalent transistor that's actually available?
