My temperature adjustable (40 W) Micron soldering station was dead when I tried to turn it on last night. Fuse was OK. But no other sign of life -- no front LED, no heating etc. Not sure where to start looking but do the ceramic heating elements on

I'm installing a multi-part solar PV system to do a head-to-head test of three different panels. I'll gang the panels into an AC inverter that I already have, and drive a test load of four 100 watt light bulbs. My installer wants to grid-tie and pay for the data collection

I have a manual video switch and a cable box with an IR output. I can use Winlirc to read the codes from the cable box remote. Is there a simple (with as little components as possible) way to "hack" my switch to accept an IR cable and toggle one of the video inputs to an another
