Newbie question about breaking traces on perf board31 Mar 2008 20:28 GMT2
I'm doing a little project on a perf board that has lines of traces (all
in one direction).  I'll have local "runs" of 2-5, which will be
isolated by breaking the trace on each end.  What is the best way to do
this: Exacto knife, Dremel, vibrating engraver, other?

I have a dvd player which outputs Component and a 36" CRT which has an
RGB input via a Scart connection.  Hence, I'm looking at a couple of
Component Converters but one outputs RGBS and the other ouputs RGsB.

I can remember building one of these from (I think) a Dick Smith kit
more than 20 years ago.

Really tiny soldering iron????25 Mar 2008 19:23 GMT9
I wonder if anyone knows of a really small soldering iron (half the diameter
of the Antex 12W iron).  I have one I purchased in USA about 20 years ago
and the element has now failed.  As the manufacturers name has worn off the
handle I am at a loss as to where to get a replacement.  ...
