Clipsal smoke alarms23 Oct 2007 21:08 GMT10
We have one -- the normal type that have a 9v battery and fit to the
ceiling. It started beeping intermittently (and loudly) so investigated.
"Old" battery showed 9.4 v dropping to 8.9 v when loaded with 750K (giving
approx 20 mA load - probably much too high). Replaced battery ...

I need a 2SC5707 transistor (leaded package, not smt) for the inverter
in a Dell (= Benq) LCD monitor, model E172FPb.
Its specs are 80V, 8A, 15W, hFE (min) = 200, VCE(sat) = 170mV @ 2A,
tON = 30ns.
The mechanical design of the USB "A" connector23 Oct 2007 04:00 GMT3
Was the USB "A" connector designed with the requirement for
supporting (in both the electrical and mechanical sense) things like
flash memory sticks known beforehand, or was that just a stroke of
luck?

LCD TV - Extended Warranty - Is it worth it ?22 Oct 2007 11:59 GMT10
I have just bought a Panasonic 81cm LCD TV (Model TX-32LXD700A). So
far, I am very impressed with the picture quality, ease of setup,
options for inputs etc.
I was suprised that it only has a 1 year warranty, as my Acer 19" LCD

3 Phase detection failure needed.22 Oct 2007 05:12 GMT3
Please can anybody suggest the best route for doing this. Ideally we would
like a simple flag to let us know if we lose any phases. The flag would need
to be in the form of a 5-12 volt DC signal out to control equipment.
Best regards Steve
Practical way to partially block radio wave20 Oct 2007 22:47 GMT3
I live in an area where the only Internet access I can get is through

Boosting LCD panel meter sensitivity20 Oct 2007 07:16 GMT4
I have one of those LCD 0-200mV panel meters that I want to boost its
sensitivity to 0-50mV. Absolute accuracy is not important, more of an
'indication'. Any suggestions how to best do this?

Dehumidifier Option, Set Time On & Time Off19 Oct 2007 13:03 GMT1
Does anyone know if there is a dehumidifier, instead of using
a humidistat setting,  allows you to set the time on and the time off?
Example: Set the dehumidifier to run for a half hour, then be off
for an hour.   This cycle repeats over and over.
Antenna rotator19 Oct 2007 09:16 GMT5
Howdy everyone,
I'm looking for an antenna rotator. I'm down deep in a gully where I'm
picking up VHF reflected off a gum tree covered hill. Once the wind gets up
the reflection angle changes (due to the gums moving, not my mast) . Antenna
