video senders21 Sep 2006 21:08 GMT3
I have been trying to set up a video sender, with the receiver unit
connected to an LCD tv. The audio signal works fine but the picture
strobes.
The unit I have been trying is a scart plug module, (type Nikkai) from
f#$king panasonic21 Sep 2006 16:39 GMT13
Sorry to post so many times in one day. I have a fax machine that I'm trying
to fix. Panasonic want $350 to fix it but I know what the fault is and it's
just a faulty cpu board. They tell me the part no on the board doesn't exist
but won't take the time to look up the correct ...
Charging a NiCd battery pack21 Sep 2006 11:53 GMT12
I have a NiCd battery.  The charger that came with it seems to have
given up the ghost (died) and I need to charge this battery.
This battery a 14.4v battery pack and I am told by the manufacturer
that it has a 1.5Ah capacity.  The charger that comes with the battery
Uninterruptable Power Supply recommendations21 Sep 2006 11:04 GMT9
I live on the fringe of the metropolitan area and we seem to get quite
a few interruptions to electricity supply. Mostly a few seconds to a
few minutes.
Anybody recently bought a UPS which impresses them as value for money?
Basic 24hour on/off timer21 Sep 2006 05:18 GMT5
I have two 12VSLA batteries which I want to keep trickle charged, but I
don't want to have two chargers ($50-00 each)
Does someone have a basic timer circuit which would work 24hrs on/24hrs off?
I would join both -ves together, and have the two +ves toggles to a relay.
Will I burn out this device?21 Sep 2006 02:29 GMT6
My Garmin GPS runs either on six AA batteries or a plug-in to a car's
cigarette lighter. Rather than running down the NiMHs, I'd like to work
with the GPS at home using an independent power supply. I have a 6/12
volt battery charger that charges at a 1amp rate and a stand alone
newbie: duplicating oscilloscope image on a TV20 Sep 2006 23:12 GMT3
is this possible? I have a scopex 14D-15 and I was hoping to be able to capture the oscilloscopes image and record it using a PC
capture card. Obviously the first step is finding a video output on the oscilloscope. There's socket on the front called 'EXT' but
I'm not sure exactly ...

"electrolysis"20 Sep 2006 07:15 GMT8
About 30 years ago, I took some of D batteries in series and and connected
copper wire leads to them which I placed in a glass containing holding
some vinegar. I might have added a little salt on the theory that it
might aid conduction. The solution turned bluish in a few hours and
DVD player problem...19 Sep 2006 21:49 GMT1
Well gang, I finally decided to come into the 21st century and get a DVD

My mom was hounding me to get one for years.  I kept saying "They're still new

How start a transistor at 3V when signal is very high impedance?19 Sep 2006 15:27 GMT11
I understand that an NPN base-emitter junction needs a voltage drop of
c. 0.6V so won't start turning on until Vbe exceeds that. Can I get the
transistor to start conducting when the input voltage (i.e. between the
circuit input and ground, common emitter connection) is around 3V.
