If anyone is thinking of buying one of these, the silly table top antenna
gets 0 channels, plugging it into a boosted rooftop antennae gives full
signal strength indication but about half the channels still won't scan in.
The problem seems to be the receiver fails to recognise ...

I had a good look at a speed detector on a police car the other day.
The unit said it operates on 24 Ghz.  (not 2.4Gig but 24Gig)
My knowledge of frequencies thus leads me to believe that the signal would
be extremely narrow, and even if one did make a speed camera detector, the

The kids are occasionally breaking their mp3 earphone wires due to
fatigue/catching and I repair them when I can. The modern ones have colour
coded enamelled wire and are both fine and flexible. I generally fix them
with some wire and heatshrink and try to rebuild starin reliefs ...

in large quantities, but I would assume these should be around the 20 cent
or less mark.

This weekend we experienced a power failure, and the bulb on my
conventional 2 D cell flashlight burned out. Fortunately I had a spare
PR-2 on hand.
