I had to remove the large heatsink and fan from my (P4) CPU to vacuum
out the dust.  The thermal compound had dried out and gone hard.  It
was grey in colour.  I have white IC/transistor heatsink compound -

I have been using autotrax to design boards. Its pretty simple for my basic
boards and I like the way it works for my application, so I would prefer not
to deviate from this package. Also the people that I get to manufacture the
boards, can work with the .pcb format.
