How to cool a collector of a transistor that is capacitance sensitive?12 Jan 2006 06:00 GMT4
I have a circuit with many transistors in TO126 package that have to be
cooled.
They should be mounted onto a grounded Heatsink but the collector has
RF on it and this node is very capacitance sensitive.

AC opto isolators11 Jan 2006 16:20 GMT6
I am wanting to check a AC line (15VAC) using a opto isolator, basically
just having it trigger a logic output so I can detect if the AC line is
there or not. I think a AC opto would do it, though I am not sure if the AC
ripple would cause the opto to give false outputs unless it ...

Any information is very appreciated.

I have  a Digitor 20 MHz (ex Dick Smith) oscilloscope which I bought some

resistors, capacitors, diodes etc. and found that I got two quite ...
An odd capacitor...11 Jan 2006 03:41 GMT8
It was pretty easy to identify what it was that went bang,
smelled funny, blew the power fuse for half the house and
made the sewing machine stop working. I cracked the sewing
maching open and found it full of electrolytic capacitor

Electronic clocks in applicances?10 Jan 2006 23:55 GMT34
I have heard it before that even the digital clock on DVD players
or microwave ovens can add up to a fair bit of power. How much power
do they typically draw? Are there any plans by major manufacturers to
reduce that?
