| Microwave oven power. | 12 Dec 2005 20:07 GMT | 3 |
Greetings group. On Sharp microwave ovens they give 2 output power values. e.g. IEC 900W and AS 750W Which value should I use when I look for a replacement magnetron in the

| When using DAC/ADC pairs, which way is more resistant to noise and nonlinearities? | 12 Dec 2005 07:36 GMT | 1 |
I am inexperienced with analog thingy. My digital clock is 40MHz, modulates a 10mbps bit stream into some waveforms. The modulated output value lies between two narrow bands, 0-63 for input

| Why does two channels of ADC give different outputs? | 12 Dec 2005 06:56 GMT | 11 |
I am injecting the DAC output from TI DAC290x-EVM to ADC (Analog AD9218). When I connect I channel from DAC to I & Q channel of ADC, I am seeing vastly different digital outputs on ADC (sampling three pins on oscilloscope). What

| Bass Link HV DC? | 11 Dec 2005 23:07 GMT | 10 |
I just found out that the Bass Link cable between Vic and Tas uses HV DC. I was always under the impression that AC had less transmission loss. Is that only under certain circumstances? Is there some other reason for using DC?

| Caller ID converter | 11 Dec 2005 16:02 GMT | 17 |
Dear clever folks; I live in Denmark have a bought a fine American telephone. The Caller ID function doesn't work, since we use a different system here. (America uses Bellcore FSK, Denmark uses DMTF).

South-West Sydney area Nothing overly special, I am just having a clean out and this stuff would otherwise have gone into the bin. I've got a beer box full of odds and sods. Some Coax, a few strips of

| Detecting pedaling speed on a stationary bike externally | 11 Dec 2005 00:54 GMT | 1 |
I'm a software developer interested in creating an inexpensive device that measures how fast I'm pedaling on my stationary recumbant bike and that communicates that information to my computer via USB or RS-232. Probably something along the lines of putting a magnet on the pedal and

| Capacitor voltage rating | 10 Dec 2005 22:57 GMT | 4 |
Could someone please tell me the voltage rating of this cap. It's a greencap and the only marking is 2G104K. It's part of a voltage doubler in a bug zapper. It's dimensions are 50% larger than the 100V greencap that Tricky Dicky sells. If that's a help.

| solarbotics gm7 | 10 Dec 2005 22:03 GMT | 1 |
I looked at the solarbotics website. Thanks. It's always fun to find new website with "cool" hobby stuff to amuse me. The driver for you motor could be done with a handful of simple parts; I'd use half-bridge of transistors, a timer and some simple logic to perfor

| Log/exponential calculations re. amp gain? | 10 Dec 2005 21:17 GMT | 2 |
I have an amplifier circuit with AGC. I am told that the AGC circuit attenuation of this amplifier can be determined from the voltage across a diode in the AGC circuit. As I understand it, the voltage across a diode is logarithmically related to the current, with the current, ...

| Can change of load on one winding affect output of other windings (Flyback SMPS)? | 10 Dec 2005 17:34 GMT | 5 |
For a flyback SMPS, if the output [with feedback] is loaded, the switching duty cycle goes up. In this situation, what would happen to voltages on other outputs ? (They remain constant I guess, but why?? Shouldn't they shoot up?)

| Need circuit to produce 3 modes of audible confirmation | 10 Dec 2005 17:05 GMT | 8 |
I need to make a circuit that will produce either one, two or three short consecutive beeps depending on the input signal it recieves. For example: Input 1 = One beep (could mean 'ON').

| need remote contact pad help | 10 Dec 2005 14:50 GMT | 4 |
Is there a cleaner or spray for the contacts on a remote? I have an (old) Zenith VCR, and remote. I have to daily clean the remotes contacts, and rubber pads, in order for it to operate. Many functions are not available from the unit itself, only the remote. So

My Sony CCD TR55e camcorder which I got as a faulty item won't play tapes but does have a working viewfinder .... Looking through this unit it looks like a black and white CRT picture but if you take the eyepiece off there is a small square white screen
