I've seen a lot of these things lately: coil with movable slug in a
cylinder.  Supposed to charge up a cap or maybe a nicad if you shake
it long enough (I won't go there).

I recently bought a very old rotary telephone, and I would like to
hook it up and use it. There are 3 wires in the telephone cord--red,
green and yellow. How do I hook these wires up to a standard RJ11

Hello everyone. I just obtained  new 1400 Watt APS SmartUPS,
and when plugged in, does nothing. All electronics *look* fine,
and there is no smell, but it simply does nothing, No fans
spinning, no heat from any components, and the onboard breaker
