Historic electronics18 Nov 2005 06:59 GMT7
Hi I'm wondering if any of the members here can help.
I'm trying to find out if there is a technical or trade name for the digital
countdown instrument seen in the old test videos counting the final seconds
to a detonation. I don't mean the whole piece of apparatus but rather the
Old Tandy power transistors18 Nov 2005 05:38 GMT4
I have in my parts collection what look like a complementary pair of
power transistors, of Tandy origin, from years ago, part numbers RS2019
and RS2027.
I can find reference to the 2027 being an MJE34 but I can't identify the
Strange resistor nomenclature18 Nov 2005 00:21 GMT12
I've seen in a few schematics lately a resistor nomenclature that is new to
me, such as "6K8" or "4K7".  In such a designation, what do the "8" and "7"
refer to?  If it weren't for the added eight and seven, I would assume six
kilo-ohms and four kilo-ohms, but the added designators ...

I am looking for a connector that is as small as possible for power entry.

The device I am working with has 1 inch depth, so the panel mount connector
Washing Machine, Voltage Spikes, Speakers Pop17 Nov 2005 09:53 GMT23
hi, just a simple problem, whenever i have my 5.1 speakers on, and i

turning on relay from 5v signal17 Nov 2005 08:26 GMT35
I asked how can I turn on a 12V relay from a ttl signal before and I got the
circuit below as a response. I tested it and it works fine but unfortunately
I tested it by supplying 12V into the 2.2k resistor. Now when I've connected
it to my little cpu it doesn't work. When I ...

Anyone know a valid email address for Bright Star Crystals?
brightstar@bigpond.com bounces, and the phone rang out when I tried to
call them.
The textbook scam17 Nov 2005 05:12 GMT11
Spending large sums of money for textbooks for EE is a scam because
classical EE is an old discipline and it could be taught perfectly
using mostly booke now out of copyright from old age or from government
free use texts like Navy rate training manuals.

A Non-friction bicycle lights generator (dynamo)16 Nov 2005 23:30 GMT2
In this new generation bicycle light system, no battery is needed, no
friction on any parts of the bicycle. The lights flash regardless speed
of the bicycle and weather conditions (unlike normal dynamos!). Very
bright.
