Speaker drivers to replace computer speakers14 May 2005 05:39 GMT1
Can someone suggest a speaker driver, with good dynamic range, suitable for
an AKAI 1980s vintage amp.
Budget $60-$80 for 2 drivers that can be directly connected, don't want to
do a crossover.

Hi, does anyone know where in the U.S. can I buy a pair of jumper wires
about 18 inch long (twisted around each other) with a shorting block at each
end?  It looks similar to the one in the following picture except that I
want both ends to have shorting blocks:

I am looking for a cct for a simple preamp running off 12VDC to boost
the o/p of my phono cartridge so that it can be used as a line-in

DC motor/generator13 May 2005 02:44 GMT6
I have a DC motor from a old RC car and I want to make it into a AC
generator with an output of around 8V or greater. But when I run it from a
drill the output that I get at the terminals is 0.8V. If I were to rewind
the motor with a finer wire would that increase the output or ...
HP Ergo 1600 monitor schematic?13 May 2005 02:19 GMT3
I know this is a long shot, but would anyone here have a schematic or
manual for an HP Ergo 1600 21" monitor? I'll get the thing sorted
eventually, but it would be much quicker and easier if I had some info
on it.

I am looking for an IR LED movement detector that is able to detect up to 5
metres, where the IR signal can reflect off a human body and bounce back

Don't want magnifying lenses or reflectors of any sort.  Need ...
How to find out the height and speed of the RC planes?12 May 2005 04:17 GMT114
When I first bought my townhouse, I thought the huge park behind was
good. Three days after I moved in, I realized it was a testing ground of the
RC plane fans. Tens of noisy planes hover arround the area every weekend.
Now for a mental exercise, I have decided to design a ...
