HELP: Cutting Open a CPU to Reveal Die22 Apr 2005 12:33 GMT4
I'm doing some research on materials forming and would like to
replicate the surface of a CPU die on the nm level. Does anyone have
any experience on removing the packaging on modern CPUs to reveal the
die?

I'm not sure if this is the appropraiate group, but here goes:
I use a electric mower for my small yard. It is about six years old,
has a 12 amp motor and I use a 60' extension with a guage rating that is

Cheap, high amp dc power supply?21 Apr 2005 21:30 GMT4
Is there any way to make a dc power supply capable of 50+ amps at
12-13.8 vdc?  Basically, I'm looking for something to simulate the
power from a car without the whole battery and charger setup.  Parts
express sells a nice rackmount one, but I'd rather not part with $190.
soft start regualtor21 Apr 2005 20:18 GMT1
I did a quick test circuit to soft start a supply rail using a P-chan
mosfet, bascially using a capacitor on the gate, so assuming capacitor is a
short when empty pulls the gate to the supply rail, and a charge resistor
charges the capacitor lowering the voltage on the gate by 12 ...

REQ product info21 Apr 2005 08:30 GMT1
There is a new product on the market, similar to indeglow  in
technology, except that it's flexible and multiple sheets can be
combined and produced far more lumins.  Intended uses are  to cover
the ceiling or wall and have an entire surface as your light source.
low-cost foam alternative21 Apr 2005 08:25 GMT3
I'm looking for a low-cost alternative to low-density conductive foam sheets.  I
need some 1" thick rigid foam for protecting the pins of LCDs.  The displays
aren't static sensitive, so I'm hoping to find something that provides the
mechanical protection without the expense of ...

looking for nice blue backlit pushbuttons20 Apr 2005 00:57 GMT9
Went to dickies and jaycar but couldnt find anything I liked. I'll need
